TU and NJ F&W have announced dates for our 2nd annual Coldwater Conservation School for kids ages 11-14. Once again this year, the School will be held at the NJ School of Conservation in Stokes State Forest along the banks of the Big Flatbrook River from June 23 – 26.
The kids will get hands on experiences in coldwater conservation including electro fishing the river to determine the species present, perform a half day of riparian plantings along the stream bank where native trees and shrubs will be planted to stabilize eroding stream banks, as well as fun activities including fly tying and fishing on the pond at the School.
See our fliers for more information and to register for the Coldwater Conservation School. Both girls and boys interested in coldwater resources are welcomed to apply! SchoolBrochure_Layout 1Application2011_Layout 1
