In addition to the about-to-be-breached Gruendyke Mill dam and the Seber dam a short distance upstream, we are now targeting the Finesville dam on the lower river for breaching. Princeton Hydro has initiated a grant request on behalf of our partner, the Musconetcong Watershed Association (MWA) to American Rivers and NOAA for permitting and removal work for this impediment to fish passage. This 9 foot dam is a total barrier that is located 1.65 miles upstream of the Musconetcong’s confluence with the Delaware River. Removal of this lowest dam would open up 3.92 miles of river for anadromous fish species while helping greatly reduce thermal issues in the river.
