NJTU opposes these two bills in Trenton that would radically alter the make-up of the current Fish and Game Council. Any move by legislators to remove the science-based system of game and non-game management and replace members of the council with political appointees is seen as a ill-conceived method that could easily limit or stop altogether the shooting and fishing sports. Please contact your local state Assemblyman and state Senator and let them know you are opposed to these bills. You can find your local legislators here: www.njleg.state.nj.us/members/legsearch.asp
On June 14th, State Council Chair Rick Axt testified in opposition to this bill before the Assembly’s Environmental and Solid Waste Committee Hearing.
