More than a decade ago in 1996, at the direction of the state council, annual stream restoration workshops were initiated by NJTU here in New Jersey. The goal for these work shops has been to instruct landowners, landscapers and professionals alike in the means and methods of stream restoration work. These workshops are the culmination of efforts from NJTU State Council, the Ken Lockwood TU chapter, North Jersey RC&D Council and the NRCS. TU has had strong expertise from the Ken Lockwood chapter’s many hands-on conservation projects and current state Chair, Rick Axt, heads the workshop committee each year.
Our most recent workshop was held this past Spring (’07) at the Pursel Dam breach.
