Trout in the Classroom (TIC) grew from one program in New Jersey to 25 in one year. During the course of the 2006 – ‘07 school year, TIC reached more than 4,000 students from Jersey City to Camden to Sussex County and the Jersey Shore. This program is exploding all over the country with Trout Unlimited a leading provider of this cold water conservation based curriculum where students get the ability to raise trout (brook trout in NJ) from eggs in the fall and release them in the spring of each year.
With interest from as many as 50 new schools already for next year, the TIC program in NJ is well underway!
